The brief

Motiv8 is a streetwear clothing brand that falls under the JB Group. The brand’s personality, aimed at capturing a younger, stylish, and streetwise target audience, is a driving force behind its appeal. Strategically, developing this brand was key to defining the overall stable. It was intentionally differentiated in its offering and positioning, making it clear and compelling to the intended customer.

Our solution

The brand was developed with a specific persona in mind: urban, image-conscious, and connected. To appeal to them, we created a personality that reflects confidence, energy, and, most importantly, style and edge. Motiv8 is rooted in individuality, helping you express your identity and reflect your true and best self.

Our brand expresses these values through bold graphic elements, using the brandmark as a stamp of credibility. Additionally, our monochrome style of photography portrays a more real and city-centric way of being and sets the brand apart from any sporting associations so we can own a distinct place in our stable.

Our graphic language was developed with this in mind, expressed in a system that allowed for targeted messaging to a range of skill levels and interest groups. The imagery is all about performance at different skill levels. It communicates that while not everyone will be an elite athlete, everyone can feel comfortable and competent when they’re doing their activity of choice.
